MONTGOMERY COUNTY CONSORTIUM OF COMMUNITIES
EXAMINATION - POLICE OFFICER
The Montgomery County Consortium of Communities along with Warminster Police Department, on behalf of their respective Civil Service Commissions or Municipalities, will be conducting a written examination for Police Officer on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Abington Senior High School, 900 Highland Avenue, Abington, PA 19001.

Beginning Monday, August 16, 2010, applications will be available on-line at www.abingtonpd.org
A single, unified preliminary application can be used to apply to any one, or all nine (9), of the Departments.
Unified Applications must be completed on-line at: www.abingtonpd.org
Applicants will receive an on-screen and email confirmation upon receipt of the completed application.
A $35.00 Administrative Fee must be paid by Credit Card as part of the on-line application process. No paper applications, checks or money orders will be accepted. Applicants who do not have computer access can go to any public library or one of the participating agencies.

BY MIDNIGHT FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2010.
- Applicants with the last name beginning with A through L shall report for registration at
8:00 a.m. on the day of the test. No one will be admitted after 8:30 a.m.
- Applicants with the last name beginning with M through Z shall report for registration at
11:30 a.m. on the day of the test. No one will be admitted after 12:00 p.m.
- No exceptions will be made to the above reporting schedule
Each applicant MUST bring two (2), #2 pencils and photo identification when reporting for the examination.
A Drivers’ License is preferred.
Cell phones, smartphones (i.e. BlackBerry devices, iPhones), PDAs and/or any other electronic devices are not permitted in the testing area.

POLICE OFFICER
EXAMINATION
The Whitehall Township Bureau of Police, a progressive law enforcement agency in Lehigh County, through the Whitehall Township Civil Service Commission, is actively seeking applicants to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer. Whitehall Township Civil Service Rules will apply to applicant testing. Applications may be obtained at the Whitehall Township Administration Building, 3219 MacArthur Road, Whitehall, PA, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. beginning in May 2010. All completed applications must be submitted to the Administration Office by 4:00 p.m. Friday July 9, 2010. Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable fee of $25.00. Applicants are required to have a valid motor vehicle license, be a citizen of the US, 21 years of age before the deadline for submitting completed application, and have acquired an Associates’ Degree or its equivalent (60 credit hours) from an accredited College or University or 2 years of service as a full time police officer to qualify for written exam. Written exam is scheduled for Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 9:00a.m.
Applicants shall be required to take a written exam, oral exam, and physical fitness test. The Oral exam is scheduled for Saturday August 28, 2010. The physical fitness test is scheduled for September 2010. Minimum passing written exam score shall be seventy (70) points and attainment of a score within the top 50 applicants for the exam. Applicants not achieving both of these prerequisites will not be allowed to proceed with further testing. Successful applicants will be required to take a physical exam, including drug panel screening, a voice stress analyzer examination, and psychological exam after offer of employment.
The Township provides an excellent benefit package. Current salary for entry level police is $49,358.40/year. Applicants must meet Township residency requirement of 10 miles within 6 months of hire. Deputy Chief of Police for the Philadelphia Housing Authority
Reporting to the Chief of Police, the Deputy Chief of Police is responsible for performing management and administrative work, directing the security enforcement and related operations of the agency's overall security program. Responsibilities include, developing, planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the programmatic efficiency of these operations in relationship to agency goals. The incumbent is responsible for working with the Chief of Police to ensure staff compliance with standards of performance, ethical conduct, and integrity. A key area of responsibility is the implementation of the Philadelphia Housing Authority’s Anti-Crime Plan. The implementation of this plan calls for strong strategic thinking and problem solving skills. The incumbent is expected to establish relationships, maintain liaison, and coordinate activities with other security enforcement agencies to ensure cooperation, coordination and effective communications. The incumbent also addressed concerns of community and tenants groups, and the public. The incumbent must also be able to utilize available technology in policing work. The incumbent reports to the Chief of Police or designee. Education and Experience: Incumbent should have the education equivalent to a High School diploma. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.10 to 12 years of law enforcement experience with a large organization or municipality providing security or protective work, three to five years of which has been as a supervisory commanding at the senior supervisory level or above.Or, any combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by the Recruitment Department.
